CLS Heat is a modern, microprocessor-regulated heated grip controller for motorcycles and quadbikes. The special thing about this system, which makes it one of a kind compared to competitive ones, is its unique temperature-control-unit.
Ordinary heated grip systems have step controls. However, most of the time, the steps offer either too little or too much output. That’s why the CLS Heat permanently adjusts itself to every difference in °C outside temperature. Thus, your hands are always nicely warm with the CLS Heat.
The system activates itself 20sec. after engine start. It waits this time to spare the battery – since its capaticy on engine start is low, most of the time. The system recognizes if the engine is running or not, by analyzing the type of operating voltage. While the engine is running, the voltage is slightly rippled. While turned off, it is strictly linear.
If the outside temperature falls below 15°C, the grips are automatically pre-heated upon start.
When the system is active, the processor decets the outside temperature at the handlebar with a temperature sensor. The heat output of the grips is determined depending on the outside temperature. If the temperature sinks, the output is increased, if the temperature raises, the output is reduced. The measurement is repeated every 15sec. to even react to temporary temperature differences. This is especially important when e.g. riding passes, since the temperature heavily changes over a short period of time.
Since every person has a different thermal sensation, you can adjust the interval of the system’s heat output manually via rotary switch. This interval can be regulated – starting from the base setting – four steps down and five steps up. One step alters the heat output by 5%. The temperature regulated control unit remains active, even after changing the interval! Only at the highest setting, the control unit is deactivated and the grips are being heated with the maximum output.
The maximum long-term output per grip is 41Watt (at 14,5V) while driving, and 29Watt (at 12V) while idle.
This set includes a control-unit, all cables required for installation, two high-quality heated grips and assembly-material.
